Designed SugarWise, a pediatric diabetes app rooted in real caregiver insights to simplify daily glucose management without limiting kids’ freedom.
SugarWise is a digital companion for families managing type 1 diabetes in children. The app supports daily decision-making by helping caregivers track glucose trends, log meals, and anticipate glycemic responses—especially for complex foods that are harder to dose. It provides visual insights, tailored suggestions, and a simplified interface designed with real caregivers in mind. SugarWise aims to reduce mental load and improve confidence in managing diabetes, without imposing unnecessary dietary restrictions.
The concept development of the SugarWise app is supported by Sardegna Ricerche through a regional innovation grant, funding early-stage research and design activities aimed at improving quality of life for families managing type 1 diabetes.

SugarWise is a digital health concept designed to support families managing type 1 diabetes in children, focusing on reducing daily stress without restricting food choices or freedom. As concept lead, I directed early-stage research and strategy, managing a small interdisciplinary team to shape the core user experience, define product vision, and validate key features with real caregivers. The project is supported by Sardegna Ricerche through an innovation grant.
The goal is to develop a focused, evidence-based MVP and secure funding for full product development.
